    Faith Formation

    About our program:

On behalf of St. Mark the Evangelist and Mount Calvary Parishes, I would like to welcome you to the 2023-2024 Religious Education Program. The Religious Education Program’s mission is simple.  We strive to provide a program of religious instruction for the children and youth of the Parish and community while supporting parents in their role as primary educators of their children.

If we are successful together we will help children and youth discover the richness and challenges of Scripture and the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church. That will then enable students to become responsible, self-reflecting, loving and praying individuals. Together we will create Disciples of Jesus.

Our Vision, within the Religious Education program, is to offer diverse faith building experiences to teach, guide, empower and challenge each other to develop a deeper relationship with God, self, family and community. All who experience the St. Mark and Mt. Calvary Religious Education Program will feel welcomed and vital to the Parish Family and cherish their Catholic faith. We are excited to partake on this great journey with you and your children.

Our program takes place on Sundays from 9am-10:15am in our Catechetical Center.

A quick glimpse into our program and you will find:

Kindergarten focuses on Stories of God's Love.
1st thru 5th grade utilize the Discover program from St. Mary's Press where they dive deeper into understanding our faith and learning how to use the Bible in every day situations.
6th thru 8th grade join together for a discussion based classroom setting where they will look more into Jesus’ life and his disciples while journeying through a new program called Edge.
9th thru 11th grade focus on Confirmation Preparation and Parish life leading up to and continuing after Confirmation all through a new program called Purpose.
12th grade will work on diving deeper into the Bible and the Catechism.

Faith Formation does not end after Confirmation!  We must continue to grow as disciples of Christ every day which is why St. Mark the Evangelist and Mt. Calvary Parishes offer Adult Faith Formation programs as well.  We offer a wide range of Bible Studies, Formed.org subscriptions, books available upon request, Small Faith Groups, Conferences, Retreats and more.  Watch for announcments of future Faith Formation events!
